Vehicle platforms and displaysstands

Displaying a car is a different job from displaying a product. The weight goes up to two tonnes, the vehicle has to drive onto and off the platform on its own wheels, and the visitor does not merely look at it — they walk around it, open the door, sit inside. So on vehicle stands we start from load and movement, not from looks.

Turntables
The turntable is the most visible and the most technical part of a vehicle stand. Load capacity, rotation speed, motor and gearbox selection, emergency stop and edge safety are all calculated up front. The platform has to turn quietly: a stand whose motor can be heard in the hall takes the visitor's attention off the car and puts it on the mechanism.

Fixed display podiums
Not every car has to turn. A raised podium, the right ramp angle and the right lighting often show the line of the car better than a turntable does — and leave a meaningful part of the budget on the design side.

Outdoor builds
Outdoors a stand does not only have to be seen, it has to hold. Wind load, ground fixing, waterproofing and surfaces that stay readable in daylight — these four headings, never discussed indoors, become the work itself outdoors.

Lighting
In vehicle display, light is not decoration; it is the product. Metal reflects: one badly placed fitting breaks the line of the car, a well placed one runs the line of the bodywork from end to end. We plan the lighting at the beginning of the design, not at the end.

Production and build
Production happens in our own workshop. Mechanical parts are tested under load in the workshop before they go to site: the platform is turned with real weight on it, and the build sequence and its duration are measured. Driving the car onto the platform is the riskiest moment of the build, and that is not a moment to improvise on site.
